Your list has 4,000 contacts today. After a good Black Friday, it may reach 10,000. The question is not only what you pay this month, but what you pay when the list grows and what you get for that money.
We collected the monthly prices from the platforms' official pages, at three thresholds: 1,000, 10,000 and 50,000 contacts. On 12 October 2026 we checked each page, with monthly payment. Prices in euros are excluding VAT. Those in dollars we leave in dollars, because the difference in euros depends on the day's exchange rate. Every figure has a link to its source, so you can check for yourself before you pay.
How the price is calculated
Before the figures, three calculation methods you will meet:
- By contacts: you pay for how many addresses you have in your list, regardless of how many emails you send. This is how theMarketer, NewsMAN and Aopy calculate.
- By active profiles: Klaviyo counts active profiles and puts a monthly email cap on each tier.
- By emails sent: Brevo starts from the volume of emails per month, not from the size of the list.
The calculation method matters more than it seems. If you send one campaign a week plus automations, an email cap can run out before the end of the month.
At 1,000 contacts
Here are the stores that have just started their list.
- theMarketer: Basic is free, without SMS, push and automations. Standard €20, Ecommerce €25, Ecommerce PRO €147 (theMarketer pricing).
- NewsMAN: a free version up to 1,000 subscribers, with 5,000 emails and limited features. The paid plan, €5 (NewsMAN pricing).
- Klaviyo: the Email plan, $30, with a maximum of 10,000 emails a month. The free plan covers only 250 active profiles and 500 emails (Klaviyo pricing).
- Aopy: €20, with unlimited emails. It has no free plan.
At this threshold the differences in money are small. What is included matters more. At theMarketer, for example, abandoned cart is in Ecommerce, not in Standard, according to their pricing page.
At 10,000 contacts
The threshold at which most stores start to feel the bill.
- theMarketer: Standard €98, Ecommerce €107, Ecommerce PRO €267.
- NewsMAN: €40, with unlimited emails.
- Klaviyo: $150, with a maximum of 100,000 emails a month.
- Aopy: €86, with unlimited emails.
To see what VAT means: on a subscription of €107 excluding VAT, with 21% VAT you pay €129.47 a month.
At 50,000 contacts
Here are the large stores, or those that have been collecting contacts for years.
- theMarketer: Standard €282, Ecommerce €387, Ecommerce PRO €695.
- NewsMAN: €150.
- Klaviyo: $720, with a maximum of 500,000 emails a month.
- Aopy: €310, with unlimited emails.
At 50,000 contacts, it is worth looking at annual payment too. theMarketer gives a 10% discount on annual payment, and NewsMAN 20%, according to their pricing pages.
Mailchimp, Omnisend and Brevo
For these three platforms, the price per contact threshold appears only in a calculator on their page, which we could not read figure by figure. We do not give you an estimate. We give you the starting prices, as they publish them:
- Mailchimp, in euros on the page served from Europe: a free plan up to 250 contacts, Essentials from €11.68 a month, Standard from €17.97, Premium from €314.44, for lists of over 10,000 contacts (Mailchimp pricing). Monthly emails have a cap: 10 times the number of contacts in Essentials, 12 times in Standard, 15 times in Premium (plan comparison).
- Omnisend, in dollars, excluding VAT: a free plan with 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, Standard from $16, Pro from $59. In Standard you send 12 times the number of contacts a month, in Pro unlimited emails (Omnisend plans).
- Brevo, in dollars: a free plan, Starter from $9 a month with from 5,000 emails, Standard from $18, Professional from $499 with from 150,000 emails (Brevo pricing).
Put your number of contacts in each one's calculator and write down the price. It takes five minutes and it is the only figure that matters to you.
What is not in the subscription
The price on the main page is rarely all you pay. Check four things:
- SMS. At theMarketer, SMS credits are bought separately, from €10. At NewsMAN, SMS starts at €0.035 per message, excluding VAT. At Klaviyo, SMS is paid separately, by country. At Omnisend, SMS is an add-on in the Pro plan, from $0.007 per message.
- Features in the more expensive plan. At theMarketer, loyalty, referral and reviews are only in Ecommerce PRO. At Klaviyo, audience sync for ads is in the Social marketing module, paid separately.
- The email cap. Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Omnisend Standard have a monthly cap. theMarketer, paid NewsMAN and Aopy have unlimited emails.
- Separate apps. If the email platform does not do product feeds or ad tracking, you pay for them elsewhere.
What you pay over a year
The monthly bill looks small. Over 12 months, the differences are easier to see. A calculation at 10,000 contacts, excluding VAT, with the prices above:
- theMarketer Ecommerce: €107 a month means €1,284 a year. With the 10% discount on annual payment, €1,155.60.
- NewsMAN: €40 a month means €480 a year. With the 20% discount on annual payment, €384.
- Klaviyo Email: $150 a month means $1,800 a year, before SMS and other modules.
Annual payment ties you to the platform for a year. It is worth it only after you have tested it for a few months and know that you are staying.
Inactive contacts cost you
When you pay by contacts, every address that has not opened an email in a year goes into the bill. Before you move to a higher threshold, clean up the list:
- Remove the addresses that hard bounced. They receive nothing anyway.
- Send a reactivation campaign to those who have not opened anything for a long time.
- Those who do not respond even then, you take out of the campaign list.
A smaller list costs you less, and campaigns reach the inbox more often, because you send only to people who really read.
How to compare correctly
Do not compare one platform's cheapest plan with another's complete plan. Make a list of what you really use: abandoned cart, segments based on orders, SMS, pop-ups. Then look, at each platform, for the first plan that has them all. The price of that plan, at your number of contacts, is the figure you compare.
The row-by-row comparisons, with features and prices at six thresholds, are on the pages Aopy vs theMarketer, Aopy vs NewsMAN and Aopy vs Klaviyo. If you also want to see what each platform does, beyond what it costs, read the guide to email marketing platforms for online stores.
What you get at Aopy
Aopy is built by the team behind Clinica de Marketing, which has worked in e-commerce since 2016. The subscription is calculated by the number of contacts and includes unlimited emails. In the same account you have automations, SMS through SMSO, pop-ups, RFM analysis and reviews. Product feeds have separate plans, by the number of products.
Prices are in euros, excluding VAT, and VAT is added at payment. All the thresholds, from 1,000 contacts up, are on the pricing page.
